The association in turin Sportdipiù, with the sponsorship of CIP - Italian Paralympic Committee, the Army, the Piedmont Region, the Municipality and the Metropolitan Area of Turin, for years now, organizes the international tournament of Para Ice Hockey.
The edition 2018 will be held as usual in the capital of the piedmont region, this year from the 22nd to the 27th of January, and this time too the event looking urgently for volunteers for both the days preceding and during the tournament.
the Team from Host Japan Team, the Host - Norway, assistant on-site, photographer, amateur: these are the tasks required. The tournament will take place at the PalaTazzoli, in via San Remo 67, and will involve the national teams of the USA, Norway, Japan, and Italy.
The International tournament is an event that is now a must for the capital of piedmont, and, with regard to the international calendar of the para ice hockey, will be the opening event of the 2018 as well as the last test before the Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, from 9 to 18 march.
The United States, favourites for the final victory, are the holders of the gold, paralympic, won in Sochi in 2014, and silver in the world championship; at the World championships last spring, held in the Korean city of Gangneung, the americans surrendered only in the final to Canada. The third came to South Korea, which in the final for the bronze defeated the Norway.
scandinavians, regulars at the tournament in turin, took the victory in the first edition of 2011. After a few seasons of absence, will return under the Mole Japan, another national historic para ice hockey, fresh, qualifying for the next Paralympics.
To complete the picture of the participants there will be, of course, Italy, a silver european medal in 2016 (the gold went to Russia) and fifth in the last World cup. The national team, which has never won the tournament, but that the final success will aim to finalise the preparation for the Paralympic Winter games, includes players of the three teams entered in the Italian championship: South Tyrol Eagles, Armata Brancaleone Varese and Sportdipiù Bulls Sitting in Turin.
On the weekend before the start of the tournament, as well as in the day of Thursday, January 25, the track of the PalaTazzoli will be available for the national training. All games will be broadcast live on RaiSport.
