Erland Josephson and Liv Ullmann is absolutely perfect in the roles that they play of Ingmar Bergman, but they do not have the huge breadth that I see with Bibi Andersson. She would have been able to play anything, " he says.
Jan Holmberg met with Bibi Andersson at one point. It was when the Ingmar Bergman Foundation had just been formed, and he would give a presentation at the cannes film festival. A nervous moment, as it turned out.
" She showed up and I was introduced by someone. So I would try to say something and then she said very authoritatively, ”now you get to take a few deep breaths, so maybe we can talk a little bit later,” says Jan Holmberg, and continues:
" I think in any way that it honors her, too. Some of the celebrities you can think of find any kind of pleasure in someone who so clearly shows his admiration. She seemed to not be interested in it, she wanted to talk about other things, and it is a credit to her.
