Exceltur warns of "important chaos" at airports for this summer

The "chaos", derived in part from the strong explosion in demand, will be felt above all in those airports with the highest arrivals of British tourists.

The Exceltur tourism alliance expects "major chaos" at airports this summer, especially in those with the highest number of British tourists and in Madrid-Barajas, where it is "urgent" that border controls be improved.

This was stated this Wednesday in the presentation of his report on tourism in the second quarter of the year by the executive vice president of Exceltur, José Luis Zoreda, who has expressly indicated the airports of Malaga, Mallorca, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas as which, predictably, will have greater problems.

Zoreda has clarified that the "chaos", derived in part from the strong explosion in demand, will be noticed above all in those airports with the highest arrivals of British tourists, who after Brexit must pass the passport control of citizens from outside the European Union, a slower process than for EU citizens.

At the Madrid-Barajas airport, the shortage of personnel at passport controls must be remedied "urgently", he added.
