La Mora is scheduled to be launched in 2027, the millennium year of the birth of the Conqueror. It is again a Norman, the Bernard shipyard, based in Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue (Manche), which was selected to pilot the reconstruction of the longship. He had already worked on the caulking of the Hermione's deck.
The budget amounts to some 4.2 million euros, financed by the show site's ticket office. Knowing that upstream, 7.8 million were necessary to rehabilitate the industrial wasteland of the East Pier and to create the immersive scenography, an effort half assumed by the communities.
La Mora is a project with multiple dimensions: historical of course but also educational, cultural and economic, with the desire to attest to know-how on the part of specialized companies and anchoring in a territory keen to assert its potential.
