More than two-thirds of Vueling flights departing from its Paris-Orly base will be canceled this weekend, the company's French flight attendants and stewards said on Wednesday, on strike over wages and working conditions. “The SNPNC-FO continues its strike movement for April 28, 29, 30, 2023 as well as May 1, 6, 7, 8, 2023. This movement is renewable in May”, affirmed this organization, the only representative of the flight personnel. (PNC) of the Spanish low-cost carrier in France.
The organization "is still waiting for a meeting date in order to find a lasting solution between the union and the management to put an end to the social movement", she specified in a press release sent to AFP. . "For more than two weeks, the SNPNC-FO has not returned numerous requests for meetings," according to the same source.
The union added that the movement this weekend "has a direct impact on more than 12,000 departing or arriving passengers", saying that 85% of Vueling's cabin crew participated in the movement last weekend, and that as much should do for that of May 1, which falls in the middle of the school holidays in the Paris region. In its notice, the union pointed to a "lack of recognition in the remuneration (of) hostesses and stewards", a "significant change in schedules many times a month", a "disconnection during rest days not respected" and "numerous payroll errors."
