According to US media, Mary Mara, an actress best known for her role on 'ER', died after she was swept into a New York River. Mara was also a star in 'Law and Order, Ally McBeal and 'Ray Donovan.
Agents who arrived on the scene along with the ambulance services, local firefighters, discovered the body of a woman who was drowning in the St. Lawrence River. She has been later identified as Mara.
The police revealed that they have found the first evidence that Mara could have drowned in a pool. A family spokesperson has confirmed that Mara was at Martha Mara's summer home when the tragedy happened.
Mary Mara was the patient Loretta Sweet in nine episodes of the hit medical series (1995-1996). She was also a part of the series "New York Cops" (NYPD Blue), and two other roles in the original series "Law and Order".
Craig Dorfman, her manager, said that Mary was "one of the most talented actresses I have ever met." He also stated that he still recalls seeing Mary onstage in 1992's 'Mad Forest Off Broadway'. She was funny, electric and an exceptional person. We will miss her.
