Cyberbullying: the “popess” of influencers Magali Berdah files a complaint against Twitter

Did Twitter Deliberately Participate in a Cyberstalking Campaign Against Magali Berdah? In any case, this is what the boss of the influencer agency Shauna Events says, who filed a complaint on Tuesday April 18 against the social network and against X for “complicity in aggravated moral harassment” in the case of her conflict with rapper Booba.

According to the complaint, revealed by Franceinfo and also consulted by Le Figaro, the boss of the influencer agency Shauna Events believes that "on May 17, 2022, Elie Yaffa, rapper known as Booba, engaged in a cyberbullying campaign” against him “via his Twitter account”.

Still according to the document, Twitter would be “fully informed” of the fact that its platform “is deliberately and daily used by Mr. Yaffa to commit these facts to the detriment of Mrs. Berdah”. "However, in this case, the Twitter companies intentionally continued to provide Mr. Yaffa with their services, refusing to suspend his Twitter account despite the steps taken in this direction and the multiple reports sent", it is specified.

A pioneer in her sector, her company, Shauna Events, founded in 2016 and dedicated to supporting influencers, the majority of whom come from reality TV shows, has experienced a wave of turbulence due to accusations of deceptive marketing practices, launched in particular by the rapper Booba. The singer violently denounced excessively sponsored content, scams and the abuse of promotions of "dropshipping" sites - a technique aimed at reselling low-quality products often from China at high prices - promoted by certain stars of 'Instagram. In this crusade against those he calls "influencers", Booba has openly targeted Magali Berdah many times on his Twitter account, where he is followed by six million subscribers.

Today, the businesswoman claims that she received more than “120,000 hate messages in less than a year”. The complaint cites hundreds of publications, including one regarding the broadcast of Magali Berdah's daughter's school address.

In the document, Magali Berdah's lawyers, Rachel-Flore Pardo and Antonin Gravelin-Rodriguez, recall having alerted the platform on numerous occasions, first to delete the disputed content and then to permanently delete Booba's account. The lawyers also recall that the National Pole for the Fight against Online Hate (PNLH) of the Paris Public Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation on June 1, 2022. The latter subsequently led to several police custody.
