Copyrightzaak against Ed Sheeran goes by: is the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ or ‘Let's Get It On’?

Music A court in New York has Ed Sheerans request for a copyrightzaak against him to dismiss rejected. The case revolves around his song ‘Thinking Out Loud’, which to many would seem on Marvin Gayes song " Let's Get It On’.

The lawsuit is brought by Kathryn Townsend, heir of Ed Townsend, who number together with Gaye wrote. In his judgment, stated judge Louis Stanton Thursday, according to the BBC that he had “substantial similarities” between different musical elements of the two songs, and he, therefore, necessary that a jury, the case flexes. The court noted that pictures of a concert in which Sheeran without the effort of ‘Let's Get It On’ turns into ‘Thinking Out Loud’, to impress on members of the jury.

It is not the first time that the British singer with the trials of shazam! faces. Last year he reached an agreement with two songwriters that he had been sued for stealing the song ‘Photograph’. Since then, these Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard are officially recognized as writers of the song.
