An eye for an eye, a microphone for a drink. When a person attending her concert threw liquid in her direction, Cardi B did not hesitate: she replied from the stage by throwing her microphone at the spectator, according to videos circulating on social networks on Sunday.
On Saturday, Cardi B was performing in Las Vegas when an audience member, apparently a woman, threw the contents of a tall goblet in her direction. Visibly shocked, only for a fraction of a second, the rapper replied by throwing her microphone at the person and taking them to task, while members of her security headed towards the audience. On Twitter, rebranded as “X,” many netizens praised Cardi B's response, with some saying it was time artists reacted to the jets aimed at them.
Cardi B is the latest artist to be targeted by such jets. Recently, Bebe Rexha received a phone call in the face in New York. In London, Pink received a plastic bag containing the ashes of the mother of one of her fans. In early July, rapper Drake was also the victim of a phone jet that hit him in the wrist. At the end of June, an Ava Max fan took the stage to slap the singer. Finally, One Direction star Harry Styles received an unidentified object in the eye during his concert in Vienna on July 8.
