The crisis-related coronavirus has been the opportunity to lobby industry to attempt to relax regulations on social and environmental issues, denounced on Wednesday two NGOS that warn against the use of public money for the benefit of these same industries.
During this crisis, "the representatives of the main polluting industries - energy, air transport, automotive, immediately mobilized (...) in order to obtain the abandonment, suspension or postponement of many regulations", say the Friends of the Earth and the Observatory of multinationals in a report.
"Lobbies in the process of returning"The Medef, the main employers ' organisation in France, had asked at the end of April a "moratorium" on the implementation of environmental measures, including in the fight against waste and recycling, request rejected by the minister of the ecological Transition Elizabeth Terminal.

For the NGOS, it is essential that the aid granted by the State for the support of the polluting industries are subject to "a plan to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and the programmed output of their activities, the more harmful". They cite the example of the loans of seven billion euros granted to Air France, which should reduce some of the national links if they are feasible in 2h30 by train and reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.
But these links could be "transferred to subsidiaries in low cost Air France", within the NGO also criticised the use of agro-fuels that may contribute to deforestation, and the "carbon offsets" by planting trees, which is insufficient to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.
For these NGOS, there is an urgent need to strengthen the transparency of the lobbying in France, in making such public appointments between decision-makers and interest representatives, with the establishment of an independent observatory "that provides transparency on the state for support" or "conditions are legally binding and verified" for businesses that benefit from it.

A small addition: these NGOS are the champions of the world of lobbying. So why would they ban other organizations to do the same? It is simple, it is the very notion of progressivism: they, they are virtuous (according to their own criteria of course), so it is logical that they are entitled to everything. "The others" are the conservatives-pop, and should be denounced.
