To combat misinformation, a digital pharmacy is created

Bot Plus Lite is a database that seeks to counter fake news, such as the claim that covid vaccines introduced a chip into our bodies. This online tool, created by the General Council of Pharmaceutical Associations, provides information about the safe and reasonable use of over 26,000 medicines that have been approved by the European Medicines Agency.

In Spain, only 20% of users are familiar with how to use analgesics, antidotes and antibiotics. This is alarming and the digital platform plans to "translate" technical data sheets into simple, understandable language to avoid more misinformation.

A flurry of hoaxes surrounding the pandemic has prompted an alert to accelerate initiatives to prevent citizens turning to unreliable sources for information that could put their health at stake. Patients can now access information such as dosage, authorizations and composition that was intended to be known by health professionals.

This tool does not replace pharmacists or doctors. It supports their work. Explanatory videos are also available. Bot Plus had a version that was only for professionals for 37+ years. This new version has been made available to all users. Warnings are also provided to ensure adequate consumption.
