Three women found dead in car outside luxury home in Beverly Hills

Three people were killed and four others injured at a party at a luxury mansion near Beverly Hills on Saturday. The bodies were found in a car in front of the house, the Los Angeles police said. Four others were injured. The victims were women between their mid-20s and early 30s, it said.

In the quarter north of the celebrity area Beverly Hills was not accidental, added Bruce Borihanh from the police of the Californian metropolis at the scene of the crime. Neighbors saw that several cars drove away a few minutes after the shots were fired. The perpetrator or perpetrators were initially able to flee.

The house, which is offered for short-term rental, is located in one of the poshest areas of the metropolis in the US state. According to the investigators, they assume that a "meeting" took place there, but further details are not yet known. However, US media speak of a party.

The property, estimated to be worth around $3 million, is on a cul-de-sac and is described on online property sites as modern and private with a pool and outdoor shower. The police are now investigating whether there have been complaints about noise pollution in the neighborhood in the past.

California has one of the strictest gun laws in the United States. In the past few days, however, two bloody crimes with a total of 18 deaths had already occurred: On Monday, a man shot seven people on two farms. Two days earlier, an assailant shot at a dance club in Monterey Park. Eleven were killed.

"This is the 11th serious gun incident in the United States and fourth in California this week," Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass wrote on Twitter. "Remembrances and prayers are not enough." Action must be taken.
