These are the World Cup games on December 3rd

The World Cup in Qatar offers great football entertainment almost without a break. So that you don't miss an important game, we'll provide information about the games of the day, the kick-off times and the respective group tables.

A total of 16 countries will play against each other in the round of 16. After almost all groups have been played three times, the critical phase is now approaching: In the knockout phase, it is decided in just one game who has to leave and who will advance to the quarter-finals. The pairings on Saturday at a glance:

Most games are shown on free TV: ARD and ZDF show a total of 48 games, including all games with German participation, the semi-finals and the final. The second major provider is Magenta TV – Telekom shows all World Cup games live.

In addition to two rounds of 16 and a quarter-final, some games from the last matchdays of the group phase, which are taking place in parallel, are played here exclusively. If Germany is not playing in the game for third place, this will also be shown exclusively on Magenta TV.

Netherlands: Even after the playfully mediocre preliminary round, Bonds coach Louis van Gaal remains of the opinion that his team could become world champions. Criticism of the new style of play comes from home, but the success with the sovereign group win proves van Gaal right. Nevertheless, Elftal needs to improve, especially when it comes to their own ball possession, and emit more goal threat in order to survive against the USA.

USA: After missing the 2018 World Cup, the Americans are back in the round of 16. That shouldn't be the end, like in 2002 the quarter-finals are supposed to be here. The young US team is happy to have many enthusiastic supporters at home. Ex-Bremer Josh Sargent was stricken, as was star Christian Pulisic, who can probably play. The failure of the former Dortmunder would otherwise weigh heavily. The Sargent deployment is more wobbly.

Argentinian – Australien: Al-Rajjan (Ahmad bin Ali Stadion)

Argentina: The 1000th competitive game in Lionel Messi's career - it should by no means be his last at the World Cup. The Argentines recovered quickly after losing their opening game 2-1 to outsiders Saudi Arabia. The 2-0 win against Mexico was followed by a more than convincing 2-0 win over Poland. Coach Lionel Scaloni emphasizes that he can bring any player in the squad. He must probably bring a replacement for Ángel di María, whose thigh pinches. If Messi scores in his 23rd World Cup game, he will also overtake Diego Maradona in this statistic with nine goals.

Australia: The World Cup is already a great success for the Socceroos. For the second time since 2006 they are in the knockout phase. They have never made it to the quarterfinals. If they manage to do the impossible against Argentina, they will make history. So far, what they lack in footballing quality, they have compensated for with a great willingness to run and fight and an extremely strong team spirit. One of their key players is former Bundesliga professional Mathew Leckie.

Four teams are always in action on the same day. On December 3rd, it will be the teams from groups A, B, C and D.
