After the shots at a man in Stuttgart, the police set up a special commission. The 30-strong group is investigating in all directions, questioning witnesses and also using sniffer dogs at the crime scene, the police headquarters in Stuttgart announced on Saturday. The State Criminal Police Office is also closely involved in the investigation.

The man was shot and seriously injured by strangers in front of a restaurant in the Zuffenhausen district later on Friday evening. The perpetrator or perpetrators fired several shots “in the area of ​​a catering business”, as the police and the public prosecutor announced. The seriously injured was taken to the hospital and is therefore in inpatient treatment.

So far it is unclear why the victim was in the area, and possible reasons for the crime are not yet known. The police searched for the fugitives with a helicopter, among other things – but initially without success. A spokesman for the Stuttgart police said there were no indications of a specific risk to the population.

The shots are reminiscent of similar incidents in recent weeks: In February, in Plochingen (Esslingen district) and Eislingen (Göppingen district), among other things, individual people were shot and seriously injured by unknown persons.
