This afternoon, the Auditorium Theater in El Ejido will present great illusions. The performance by Magician Yunke will begin at 6:30 p.m. Castellon's magician, who twice won the title of best magician of the world and offers his own illusions.
Conjuro offers a new type of illusionism in Spain. What's so special about this show?
-All the magic we show is created in my own workshop. This is why our magic is unique. The public is not privy to what happens on stage because the effects were created and designed in my workshop. This is what makes this show different from other shows.
What kind of numbers will it show you?
The games we will present are full of energy and dynamic magic. Everything that is magic will be covered, including appearances and disappearances. Even a person will split in half. We will also have a game where we use fire, which is quite impressive. This is the world of great illusions.
What would you call magic?
It's almost like a dream. Like going back in time as a child and being transported into a world full of illusions and fantasy. This is what makes it so special. It's one of the few shows you can enjoy as a family. The little magician and the adult who sees that we magicians don't have magical powers, but are capable of accomplishing impossible feats, both love it.
What does it all mean?
It is my whole life. Since I was a youngster, I have been fascinated by magic. It is not a job for me but a passion. Magic fascinates and fascinates.
He is currently the World Magic Championship's Winner in Korea. You'll see the greatest magicians in the world live, and I don't think I'm wrong.
Canada has the World Cup at the end July. In 2018, I was the champion of the 2018 World Cup. Canada is now competing again. This award does not make you the greatest magician in the world. It makes you a magician magician magicians love. It's not easy to be the best in art. It's not the same as in sports. It is more about the jury's perception that you are worthy of a prize. However, I don't believe I'm the greatest. You're the best for this jury. This means you've worked hard and created many things. I consider myself to be a magician, or at the very least one of the hardest-working magicians, but not the greatest.
It would be his third title...
-I won in Lisbon 2000 and Korea (2018). We will now try to win the third. Although I can't tell you how many World Cups the winner has had, I think it's less than 2. Three World Cups could be a significant moment for me. I'm also excited to win the award again. We will fight to get it.
- He has performed before highly important people. Are you nervous about any of them at all?
"Didn’t your hand shake at the moment?"
-I was afraid and thought, "If I fail today I don't know how this will end" (laughs).
One would love to perform a magic trick.
Rafa Nadal is someone I would love. He is a Spaniard, and an example of what it means to be a Spaniard. It would be a pleasure to meet him and have the opportunity to make a difference on his life.
Would you let anything go if you could make it disappear?
If I could, I would choose diseases and hunger. They are obvious, but should not be happening in these times. War is another cancer that humans have, and we need to eradicate it as quickly as possible.
His stage name is a tribute his grandfather.
Yes, because he was blacksmith, he used an anvil, and that anvil is still at my house's entrance. I started to perform the first magic effects on him when I was a little girl. He loved her very much. He was my best friend for many years. He was my youngest grandchild and always went along with my grandfather. He would take me to the blacksmith shop to explain how things worked. My grandfather, a blacksmith, inspired me to start forging my own magic at an early age. I believe that is why my shows are unique. My family tradition allowed me to have early access to a workshop to help me capture the ideas in my head. I created magic tricks, and I was awarded international awards. These awards are what launched me into being able to work abroad.
Are you also a bit of an anvil in order to survive in the worlds of magic and art?
Yes, it is important. But, you must also love what you do. You should be passionate about what you do so that it is not a burden but a joy. To get the best out of your work, it is important to believe in yourself.
Do you still remember the first trick you learned?
-In my first trick, I was very nervous and my hands were shaking quite a bit. Two handkerchiefs were in my hand, and I fell on the stage with one handkerchief. I had nerves so bad that I lost the other handkerchief. The prompter's box was already there, but I couldn't retrieve it. When I stood up, I grabbed the other handkerchief from my hand. The audience then applauded. Because it was in my hometown, I assumed they were applauding me. Castellon, a small town. The video shows that a handkerchief turns yellow and then rises to red. Many thought he was creating a magical effect, but it wasn't. It was an accident. It was my first magical effect. I altered the color of a handkerchief without realizing it. It is amazing to me that magic happens as if it were destiny.
What is the largest prize you'd like to win?
Public recognition is my favorite award. I'm very proud to have it. Magic is not a black art. Magic is something that everyone enjoys. It fascinates and excites. The prize I want to win is the one that I win every day. That the public leaves happy, and that people come out better for it. Let them learn.
