That's 127 points more than a week ago.

The incidence has increased in all federal states in one week - and with the exception of Hamburg it has also increased significantly.

471 corona deaths were reported in the past week.

The death toll hits a 16-week low.

There were only two weeks in mid-June this year with even lower weekly values.

Actually, a slight increase in the number of deaths would have been expected.

Because experience has shown that the development of deaths follows the direction given by the number of cases with a gap of three weeks.

Currently, however, the 7-day average of new cases has been rising again for more than four weeks.

The case mortality also falls accordingly, even if only in the area of ​​the decimal places.

The case mortality rate has now fallen to 0.44 percent since the pandemic began.

For this year, which was characterized from the start by the omicron variant, the figure is still 0.14 percent, with a slight downward trend.

However, there is no reason to expect that the downward trend in the number of deaths will continue for long.
