More than 650 students are enrolled in face-to-face summer courses

Today, the Castillo de Santa Ana will be hosting the official inauguration for some seminars which will continue until July 29. Eight venues will distribute the 23 proposals. Eleven will be held in the capital; four will be in Roquetas de Mar; two will take place in Cuevas del Almnzora; another pair will take place in Velez Rubio. Rodalquilar and Tijola will each host one. More than 300 speakers are expected to participate in the initiative.

The University of Almeria's Summer Courses are distinguished by their innovation, currentity, and relevance of topics covered, the quality of speakers, and the extensive network of collaborations with entities in our socioeconomic context. These summer courses were made possible by the University of Almeria, Almeria City Council and Roquetas de Mar City Council. The Provincial Council, Cajamar entity, and other public-private entities.

Rector Carmelo Rodriguez said that it was time to recover "the essence" because these courses are more than just meetings with experts. They also promote "the closeness between participants and the discussion between them, as well as moments to discover the tourist attractions in the province>>>

The Almeria Model has evolved into the cinema. It includes climate change, commitment to science, health and well-being, food, science and culture, art and social changes, socio-health, astronomy and sports.

Maria del Mar Vazquez (Councilor for Planning and Presidency of Almeria City Council) stressed that the Summer Courses are "an excellent projection tool for young people and a benchmark for excellence for Almeria in general.". She also spoke of "the satisfaction that Almeria City Council supposes that it can participate one more year to the impulse that the academic event supposes for Almeria and to contribute to a permanent commitment with talent and innovation from the UAL".

Jose Antonio Picon, director of Almeria de Cajamar, recalled the "history and prestige" of the UAL Summer Courses. These courses "represent an essential meeting point between university and society" and allow for enrichment by "bringing knowledge, culture, and research closer", and "contribute towards promoting a more sustainable society from an economic, social, and environmental perspective".
