Miguel Angel Martinez Tajuelo, an illiturgical swimmer, has reached the finals of the Madeira 2022 Paralympic Swim World Championships. These championships were held in Funchal between June 12 and 18.

He was 6th in the 50-meter backstroke with a time 5539. 8th in the 50meter freestyle with time 56>>11 and 5th in the 200-meter freestyle. This equals his best result, which he had achieved in London's last World Cup event.

"I am extremely happy with my results at 2022 Madeira World Cup. Miguel Angel commented at the conclusion of the competition, "I continue to maintain my world finalist level and that is an indication that the training sessions have been on the right track.

Miguel is participating in his sixth World Championships as part of the Spanish National Team. The 38-member team, which included swimmers from all over Spain, won a total 29 medals (11 gold, 11 silver, and 11 bronze), to place eighth in the medal table.

Miguel Angel's next event will be the 2022 Spanish Club Championships in Oviedo, July 2-3.
