According to the Municipal Council, Las Gabias will be celebrating the Day of Andalusia on Thursday, February 28th. From 10 AM to 3 PM, the Consistory will organize a full program of activities at the municipal sports center. These activities are expected to attract approximately 6,000 people.
Vanessa Polo, the mayor of Las Gabias has highlighted the importance of the Thursday party as "the most showcase of our municipality", since it allows visitors to learn about all the sports disciplines taught there and also the various cultural associations that exist here in Las Gabias>>. These groups will have numerous spaces in which to set up stands to promote themselves.
There will be demonstrations of different sports disciplines, such as kickboxing, judo and aikido. You can also enjoy break dancing and Kangoo Jumps, a jumping sport that has quite a lot of fans. You can also find bouncy castles and Flamenco and Spanish dance workshops, as well as a dog beauty show and archery.
Juan Antonio Franco, the Councilor for Sports of the City Council of Las Gabias encourages gabirros to "attend this recreational sports day" and to learn more about the many activities in the municipality.
The City Hall will offer a Tourist Train to residents for the second consecutive year. It will stop at ten points throughout the municipality. "With the aim that gabirros can enjoy the day without having to use the car and encourage sustainable transport," explained the mayor.
