Girls who confessed left Freudenberg with their families

The two girls who confessed in the case of the stabbed Luise (12) left Freudenberg (North Rhine-Westphalia) together with their families. The district administrator of the responsible district of Siegen-Wittgenstein told the "RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland" ("RND") on Thursday. “We have made a corresponding offer for joint accommodation. The offer was accepted,” said District Administrator Andreas Müller. The emphasis is on volunteering. No coercive measures against the families of the two girls are possible.

Luise was killed with numerous knife wounds on Saturday. Two girls, ages 12 and 13, confessed to stabbing her. The two are not yet criminally responsible because of their age and cannot be charged in court. With reference to the privacy protection of the victim and the underage perpetrators, the investigators are very reluctant to provide information about the crime.

At first it was said that the two girls had been handed over to the youth welfare office and housed outside their home environment. District Administrator Müller told the "RND" that the youth welfare office was involved early on by the investigative authorities. Now the focus is on taking stock. “We then have to see that we can offer help to the relatives. This has to be tailor-made, because every single person involved needs different forms of support," said Müller.

The public prosecutor's office and the police again warned of false reports in the Luise case in a press release on Friday morning. "Due to the broad public interest and the associated sympathy, rumors about the alleged background of the incident keep coming up. Obviously, there is speculation, especially on social media, that does not match the current status of the investigation," the statement said.

The need for information is very high, but the authorities cannot publish any detailed information due to the protection of all personal rights. The public prosecutor and the police therefore ask "not to take part in any speculation and not to fuel the discussions about the background to the incident, also to protect the relatives".
