"Fettes Brot" gives surprise concerts along the Elbe

In the best marketing of the age, the Hamburg band "Fettes Brot" only gradually announced their comeback in the Hanseatic city after the pandemic. While it was still said on Tuesday that there should be a surprise concert in her hometown, on Wednesday it was at least a little more concrete. "After almost three years, we're going to perform again spontaneously and at short notice, in Hamburg," the band said on Facebook. And the following day, the curtain was opened a little further: "Guys! We're in the mood again!! You too? After a break of almost 3 years, it's so itchy that we just want to celebrate with you again spontaneously and at short notice - in Hamburg," it said in a newsletter.

And further: “Anyone who is this Friday, August 26th. in the afternoon in the Hamburg harbor area can finally experience us live again. For nothing! Further information? Consequences! Keep your eyes and ears open and CANCEL EVERYTHING for Friday afternoon! LOVE FETTES BROT” The three band members Doctor Renz (Martin Vandreier), König Boris (Boris Lauterbach) and Schiffmeister (Björn Warns) originally come from Halstenbek, Schenefeld and Pinneberg just outside the Hanseatic city. At the concert on Friday, however, the trio will probably only be supplemented by a DJ, otherwise the band will also appear with a larger cast.

On Thursday evening it got a little more specific again, the Facebook page now said that the band would perform in up to five places one after the other between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m Check your Facebook, Instagram or Twitter account – a kind of media scavenger hunt. And what do those fans who participate get? "We'll play a few songs for general amusement," it said.

And on Friday afternoon it became very concrete: "Fettes Brot" stated that they definitely wanted to "chug past" three places - apparently the game is played from a boat. At 3 p.m. they want to be at the Strandperle, at 4 p.m. at the Landungsbrücken, at 4.45 p.m. at the Magellan Terraces – if the announced thunderstorm allows all this, one or two spots could also be added.
