Churriana placed a wager on art and creation at FIARTE International Fair

The ninth FIARTE International Art Fair will be held at the Municipal Center of Culture of Churriana de la Vega during April. This ambitious international exhibition features works from more than 150 artists across thirty countries. It is being organized by the City Council of Granada and the Granada Provincial Council in collaboration with the FIARTE Cultural Association.

Samuel Pena, the coordinator of the Culture delegation of the Granada Provincial Council has presented, along with Lourdes Ramirez (Councilor for Culture of the Churriana City Council), a new edition that is marked by the participation of many artists from Latin America as well as the exceptional variety of works - a testament to the maturity of this international benchmark in contemporary art.

The exhibition will open at the Palace of Performing Arts and Music on Friday, April 6. It will be inaugurated with an opening ceremony. This will pay tribute to different personalities who have contributed to art and culture in Granada.

This edition's FIARTE awards, a sculpture created by Yamal Din, curator of the exhibition, went to Federico Castillo (professor at the UGR, general secretary of Ibero-American Union of Municipalists), the poet Pedro Enriquez and Miguel Moreno as well as the sculptor Miguel Moreno. Santiago Ribeiro was also awarded the FIARTE award. Juan Antonio Garcia Huertas will also be honored with the Plastic Arts Prize for his design of the poster for this edition.

The IX edition FIARTE includes important representations of works from Mexico and Argentina, Brazil, Morocco, Italy, and Brazil in a sample that includes painting sculpture, photography, and tapestry.

FIARTE, a cultural artistic movement that brought together more than 35,000 artists, was founded in Europe and Africa as a result of the merger of several European and African associations. Yamal Din, a potter and sculptor promoted the project with Virtudes Barros, vice president of FIARTE Cultural Association. The exhibition will be on display in the Municipal Center of Culture of Churriana de la Vega from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 4 - 9 p.m.
