122,265 Corona cases were reported to the RKI yesterday.

In the previous week comparison, there is an increase of 66 percent.

In four days, more than half a million cases have now been registered, 562,403 to be precise.

The 7-day average of new cases rises to more than 80,000 - and is now ten times higher than a year ago.

Although omicron is known to be more harmless than the delta variant that will be dominant in autumn 2021, the sheer number of infections has apparently long been aggravating the problem in healthcare.

Specifically, in the most recent Divi survey, almost 38 percent of the intensive care units stated that their operating situation was “limited”.

Tendency here, as well as with the number of cases: clearly increasing.

The 7-day incidence increases sharply again, from 578 to 636.

It is increasing in all 16 federal states. And it is rising particularly strongly where it is already particularly high - namely in Saarland.

The smallest area country is now created with 1254 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days.

The most pleasing corona development at the moment is the comparatively low number of deaths.

129 deceased were reported to the RKI yesterday.

It is becoming apparent that we will remain below 500 deaths in the weekly balance - for the first time since June.
