A children's zone will be available at the Virgilio Castilla Carmona de Armilla Park

A new area for children will be added to the Virgilio Castilla Carmona Park, a public space that covers more than 8,000 square metres in Armilla. It will be available in the next few weeks. It has been a popular spot for neighbors to gather and celebrate their birthdays on the lawn. Consistory announced that the Consistory will provide a play area for the children with rubber flooring, swings and an inclusive area.

Armilla City Council asked the Provincial Council to extend the transfer period for the Virgilio Castilla Carmona Park. The extension would include conditioning the public space for swings for children. Armillero Park is dedicated to Castilla Carmona who was killed in 1936. The city hosted a memorial service in the park last summer to honor Castilla Carmona, his father.

These lands have been used by the City Council and municipal associations to host the San Isidro pilgrimage and film screenings. There are barbecues, pergolas and public services in the park. The park also has trees, picnic tables, gardens, and a fence to protect the environment.

Sources within the City Council wanted to remind people that these lands were owned by the Provincial Council and had been conditioned by the Municipal Corporation. However, they were not being used. "The work consisted of cleaning up the undergrowth and repairing the toilets, building barbecues and planting gardens, as well as improving the sports courts, curbs and placing picnic tables. The installation of an irrigation system was also completed.
