VIDEO. Drunken driver commits vluchtmisdrijf, car lights off after parking

Bredene In the Henri Zwaenepoelstraat in Bredene-Sas this morning around 6 pm, a car completely burned out. “The vehicle was previously involved in a traffic accident with vluchtmisdrijf in Ostend. The driver put a positive breath test”, says commissioner Dennis Goes of the pz Bredene/De Haan.

The fire brigade and police were called when residents of the car in flames saw. It provided a spectacular sea of flames. The firefighters were fast, but the Opel Astra was already long lost. The owner, who lives in the area, had her car there just parked.

“The driver (39) was previously involved in a traffic accident with only material damage in Ostend. The woman committed vluchtmisdrijf and drove towards home. The fire was probably caused by a short circuit as a result of the accident,” says commissioner Dennis Goes. The police found the owner at home. She put a positive breath test. “And they will at a later date for the court to justify. Her license could not be revoked because it is in the smoke went on, ' Goes further.

The inferno caused also damage to a building next to the car. “When the police arrived on the scene, reached the flames high up to the apartment on the first floor.
