VG-commentator Frithjof Jacobsen ends abruptly

The high-profile VG-commentator Frithjof Jacobsen ends in the VG, sign bransjenettstedet Medier24.

I've had my last day of work in the VG today, that's right, " says Jacobsen to Medier24.

Hanne Skartveit, political editor of VG, says that the Jacobsen stopped abruptly.

- It is always sad to lose people. Frithjof has chosen to terminate its position here in VG, say Skartveit to the Newspaper.

- Want to do something new

the News was known in an internal email to the editors today, Jacobsen writes that he has terminated the job.

"Dear colleagues and friends. I have put up in VG, and thus leaves the newspaper. I want to do something new, and it will happen outside this house.

I have some plans, but still don't know quite what it is. I have had a great time here, both personally and professionally, and I have become acquainted with many people I greatly appreciate.

It feels sad that now it is over, but I am confident in the decision I have taken (..).

It is not yet known what is the background for that Jacobsen is leaving the newspaper.

Jacobsen previously worked in the Norwegian broadcasting corporation, including as a presenter in Dagsnytt Eighteen, but has for the last 11 years has worked in the VG. The last few years as a commentator and chairman of the newspaper's kommentaravdeling.

In 2015 he was awarded the Riksmålsforbundets price Gullpennen.

Giæver dizzy in the head

Jacobsen is half of the podcast duo "Giæver and Joffen", which last fall went over to the daily episodes.

Today's episode was very special to Anders Giæver.

Political editor Hanne Skartveit confirm that the podcast continues. Something new names, they have not yet.

Jacobsen is also a part of the band Gluecifer, which in 2017 made a comeback.
