Two dead in avalanches in Austria, persistent snowfall causes problems
In Vorarlberg, the westernmost federal state of Austria, yesterday, two German winter sports enthusiasts to the life came in two accidents with avalanches. A first accident occurred in the ski resort Diedamskopf in au-schoppernau, where a 26-year-old skier in an avalanche killed. He was unsuccessfully resuscitated after he was dug out.

A third dead fell in Vorarlberg. A Swiss snowboarder missed a curve and plunged into an abyss, and came in with his head first in the deep snow. There was no help avail.

The danger of avalanches was last weekend's "big" in the largest part of the Austrian Alps. That is the second-highest level on a scale of five.
