virtually all of the ferry routes in Denmark is free of charge for cyclists or pedestrians in the month of July. Exactly, it comes to cover 53 routes.

The free ferry is part of the so-called summer package, as the Social democrats, the Left, The Radicals, SF, Enhedslisten, The Conservatives and the Alternative stands behind.

It aims to help the tourism industry, hard hit by coronakrisen and the prospect of fewer foreign tourists.

It has been up to the ferry companies themselves whether they will offer free travel. If they participate, they get subsequently the lack of ticket earnings covered by the state.

With the summer package was parties, among other things, agreed to put a million extra cheap Orange tickets for sale and 50,000 passports. The passports provide eight days of free travel with public transport. All passports are sold out.
