Film maker convicted of rape - but get reduced punishment

A 54-year-old man from the film industry be punished with seven years in prison for multiple rapes committed against four women.

It has a domsmandsret in the Eastern high Court decided on Wednesday afternoon.

At the Court in Lyngby was the man - Michel Conradi - last year sentenced to eight years in prison. He refused guilty, why he then appealed against the judgment.

As the president, Anne Birgitte Fishing read the verdict aloud in the high court's local on Bredgade in Copenhagen, he took to his head and protested.

Michel Conradi was charged from 1983 to the end of 2003 to have committed numerous rapes against a girl. She was four years old when the sexual assault according to public prosecutor began.

First as an adult she went to the police and told about the rapes.

Filmmanden, however, was only found guilty of the assault, which was committed in 2003, when the previous conditions fell for a limitation period.

Filmmanden must pay compensation to the four victims. Erstatningerne amounting to, respectively, 10.000, 30.000, 60.000 and 88.000 dollars.
