Niki Lauda is again admitted to the hospital in Vienna, five months after his lung transplant.
This writes the austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung.
The triple world champion has been attacked by a flu, and the doctors have chosen not to take some chances with the legend's health as a result of the transplant in 2018 – combined with his weakened immune system.
the 69-year-old Lauda was rushed to the hospital in the beginning of august when he, after having sustained a severe cough was found to have serious problems with his lungs, which, however, were not specified further, which resulted in a transplant.
Had he not been operated on, he would, according to the doctors at the hospital have had between three and seven days left to live.
Niki Lauda belongs to continue the Formula 1 world as aktiehaver and chairman of the Mercedes team.
He became world champion in 1975, 1977 and 1984. The second championship came just a year after the terrible accident at the Nürburgring, when Lauda was trapped in a burning car and was hospitalized with severe burn injuries.
He was, however, not a long time to get started again and drove Formula 1 just 40 days later. The accident meant, however, that he was enduring but among other things the lungs. He has since been operated on two times in his kidneys.
His surgery in august, was reportedly not, however, have something to with the accident in 1976 to do.
