Danish musician new host on the talent show: Had to lie to mom and dad

When the previous DR-host Jacob Riising rolls across the screen on Channel 5 as a host on sangprogrammet 'Voice Junior', he is not alone.

It is together with the 25-year-old female drummer from the Danish band L. I. G. A, am totally taken by Haydar, as co-host.

- I am me game much. Jacob Riising is the very experienced, and although we should be a comedy, it is also just about to soak me with the knowledge and experience from him.

- Before we met each other in connection with the program, I had only met him a single time. It was to the children's song contest, where he was host, and I had to play drums. I was totally starstruck and also got pictures taken with him and all. It's a little funny to think about now, telling the 25-year-old am totally taken by Haydar grinning to Ekstra Bladet.

She hopes that she as the host can provide the young participants some quiet and security.

- I even started my career by being in the Melodi Grand Prix, and thus, I hope that my story can help to inspire young people to pursue their musikdrømme, she explains.

To pursue the dream of music started when this is not entirely easy for the female drummer.

In 2003 fled, she and the family to Denmark from Iraq.

- Since we came up here, was my parents ' plan, that I should be a lawyer or doctor. In each case, not the drummer. So there I was going to have to lie. I have never gone to education, but I have instead practiced and practiced alone in the music room of my elementary school. So I was after school and played, but my parents told that I was to help with homework, she explains.

today, parents are proud of their daughter and support her career as a musician.
