Club to get students to move home to Thy

A new phenomenon in Aarhus is perhaps only the beginning of a development which in the longer term, can help to address udkantsdanmarks problems.

the Club Thy are set up by the former thyboere, now living in Aarhus. The club gather people from the area in the north-west of Denmark, and people with an interest in Thy.

Thy lose too many 'pundits', who, after completing their education in the royal capital did not return to their original home land.

- We are in need of labor. Doctors, nurses, dentists and engineers. Here is actually a general shortage of labour. There are several who move away - especially to Aalborg and Aarhus - than there is thyboere returning home again. When moving 250 people for the city of Aarhus, only 150 back again, tells the Christian Volmer Nielsen, erhvervskonsulent in Thisted Municipality, Aarhus Stiftstidende.

Christian Volmer Nielsen continues about the sad and devastating development:

Studies show that people who originate from have a much higher probability to move to the Thy than others. Therefore, we would like to keep in touch by making some arrangements, so we have a network in the Aarhus of people linked to the Thy, says Christian Volmer Nielsen.

the Club Thy can also be used by companies who lack trainees.

- There is a super targeted group of people who live in brighton and think it could be fun to get an internship of three months in a company in Denmark, says Christian Volmer Nielsen Aarhus Stiftstidende

A similar club has been in Aalborg since april last year with now 250 members.
