Berg-charge linked to the ministry of foreign AFFAIRS-travel to St. Petersburg

Berg was already a pensioner, but the ministry of Foreign affairs (UD) had the advantage of his knowledge then it should be negotiated until a new border agreement with Russia, writes the newspaper. UDs head of communications Frode Andersen confirms that Berg was in Russia the same week as the russians believe he was on assignment for the Norwegian intelligence.

– We can confirm that he attended a meeting in Grensekommisjonen in St. Petersburg 17.-18. november 2015, writes Andersen, in a message to the newspaper.

The Russian security police FSB believes Berg on the same journey, on a mission from the E-service, sent a letter to a Russian contact 20. november.

UD said they knew nothing about Bergs contact with the intelligence when he was on the current trip to Russia.

– We know only the allegations of the spionsiktelsen from vg's rendering, and we therefore have no requirement to comment on the case, " says Andersen.

Frode Berg had put up the job in Grensekommisariatet before he was apprehended by the FSB in Moscow in December of last year. He has not been in Russia for the ministry of foreign AFFAIRS after 2015.
