A call for help from Ecuador

Ecuador has introduced stricter visa regulations for Venezuelans. It is not a hard-heartedness, but a cry for help is. The refugee influx constitutes a huge challenge. The inclusion of the countries in the Region are no longer able to master them.

More than four million women, men and children have left since 2015 Venezuela. The country is in a severe crisis. Members of the opposition are arrested, there is a lack of food and medicines. The needs, could double the number of refugees from the South American country by the end of next year, fears the Organisation of American States.

Behind the stricter visa regulations for Venezuelans, there is no hard-heartedness, but a cry for help is.

the Latin American States have responded so Far, with great openness. Especially Colombia, Peru and Ecuador have each received hundreds of thousands of people. An enormous social, but also economic challenge, which has so far been borne mainly by the affected countries themselves. Now, however, the receiving countries have come increasingly to their limits.

Europe and the international community are now required. You need to help the Latin American countries – with logistics, medical care of refugees, and also financial support. Anything else would be a: hard-hearted.
