40 Norwegian ICE-children in Syria

Facing the Newspaper confirms the Police Security service (PST) that they have certain information about that around 40 children with the Norwegian association is born, or taken to what was an islamic caliphate in Syria and Iraq.

After the islamic terrorists proclaimed that they had established a caliphate in 2013, traveled in excess of 100 people from Norway to Syria and Northern Iraq to join the extremist islamic grouping.

Small children

Around 40 children with Norwegian affiliation are born in areas that were controlled by the islamists. A few of the children were taken from Norway. What has happened with the children, we know little about, " says Bernsen in PST.

the Newspaper is familiar with that a woman of 20-years from Bærum, who traveled to Syria, now residing in a refugee camp. Her firstborn son died in Syria. Later she got a child with a known deceased Norwegian citizen of chilean ethnicity.

the Woman and the child is now – according to several sources – in a member of the refugee camp in Syria. The condition of the child and the woman is unknown.

It has been the subject of different figures on how many people with Norwegian association who traveled to the caliphate to join The islamic state (IS).

30 killed

Now operating PST with that there were around 100 people who traveled from Norway from 2013 and until 2016. The last two years, there have been very few who have travelled from Norway to join terrororganisasjonen.

" We have reason to assume that there are about 30 people left in Syria, women and men, with a tie-in to Norway.

Around 30 people - with the Norwegian association - has been confirmed killed in Syria. The remaining 40 have left the area. A few have come back to Norway, others have traveled to other countries, " says Martin Bernsen in PST.

Multi-ethnic

- With the children who are born in Syria, we believe that it has been between 140 and 150 people with Norwegian association in what was referred to as an islamic caliphate.

most people traveled from Norway in 2013. Some are ethnic Norwegian converts. The rest can most easily be described as multi-ethnic, " says Bernsen.

PST don't want to say something about how they have an overview of the Norwegian association, and about the Norwegian ICE-warriors have contact with Norway.

But the Newspaper knows that several of those who traveled to Syria and joined the islamists have managed to keep in touch with both their respective families, and friends in the islamist environment in Norway.

Although the extremist islamic environment in Norway in the last few years haven't done as much of in the public rooms, PST still focus on the extreme islamists.

Previously PST described this environment as the weakened, but that it still exists.
