Zaire-Emery man of the match at 17: “It’s not a question of age but of mentality”

Warren Zaire-Emery (PSG midfielder, after the 3-0 victory over AC Milan): “It’s a good evening. We didn't start the match well, but we had a good reaction, we all communicated together, we said things that were wrong at half-time and on the pitch. We came back better in the second half and it paid off. (...) We made the effort together, we showed that we are a team, that we are united, and I think that is the most important thing. Player of the match at 17? I'm very happy, but it's not a question of age. It's a question of mentality. I always give everything on the pitch and I will give everything for my teammates. The trophy ? It will have a little place on the shelf in my room. Precocity records and Mbappé? Kylian is an exceptional player. We each have our own path. We'll see what happens next.

My progress? I gain confidence in myself, I free myself more and more. I try things. At the start of the season, I took fewer risks, I played more laterally. Today I try to play more forward. There will perhaps be turnovers, more than at the start of the season in any case, but also more assists, more goals. I hope it happens as quickly as possible. (...) It's always a goal to make assists, to score, to help your team win. But it's not an obsession either. If it comes, so much the better. Otherwise, I will make it happen (smile). The France A team? It's a goal for everyone... but I don't necessarily think about it. I play my football and it is above all a daily job. I will work to get there. Communion with the fans? It's extraordinary. We do it at every match. Whether we win or lose, they are there to support us, to give everything during the matches.
