Change continues within the XV of France. After the departures of Karim Ghezal and Laurent Labit to join Stade Français, coach Fabien Galthié will see his right-hand man Raphaël Ibanez, appointed manager of the Blues in April 2019 by FFR president Bernard Laporte, evolve in his role. “Raphaël Ibañez will continue to assume his role as general manager of the XV of France while fully reintegrating his transversal missions,” wrote the FFR in a press release.

The evolution of Raphaël Ibanez's “missions towards a more transversal role” are characterized by “supporting the development and coordination between all the teams in France, strengthening collaborations with professional clubs and institutional actors linked to the XV of France and active participation in high performance commissions and gatherings of French teams,” specifies the French Rugby Federation.

Le Midi Olympique had earlier announced in the morning the departure of Raphaël Ibanez from the XV of France, due to various tensions with Fabien Galthié. The Blues, who will return to action in 2024 with the VI Nations tournament, will have to deal with this new change. Damian Penaud's teammates will also have to do without their captain Antoine Dupont, who will join the French rugby sevens team in January to prepare for the Paris Olympic Games.
