The joint candidacy of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany for the organization of the Women's Football World Cup in 2027 has been made official, the federations indicated in a press release on Wednesday. The objectives set for the organization of this World Cup “align with the duty that the hosts have to support Fifa in its responsibilities to develop football on a global scale”, specified the federations.
The authorities of the three countries had already expressed their desire for a joint candidacy in 2020. It will compete with that of the United States and Mexico, as well as that of South Africa and that of Brazil. The organization of the 2027 World Cup should be decided at the Fifa congress next May in Bangkok.
