UBB-Racing 92: the TGV Depoortère, the Ile-de-France network failure... The tops and the flops

Tops

What a sumptuous double from the Bordeaux center, the great architect of his team's victory against Racing. The 21-year-old showed his mischief and his power (62nd) then his dazzlingness (71st) to bury the Ile-de-France hopes. One of the key men in Yannick Bru's training. The Girondin, who should soon celebrate his first selection with the XV of France, made us forget the internationals and the executives of the UBB currently selected for the Six Nations Tournament (Damian Penaud, Maxime Lucu, Matthieu Jalibert, Louis Bielle-Biarrey ...) and once again showed the full extent of his (immense) talent.

The Bordeaux scrum half was on fire. Lesgourgues was in great form this Saturday evening and showed that he was back at his best. The 33-year-old created a lot of differences and increased his efforts (45 meters covered and won with the ball in hand). Bastien Vergnes-Taillefer, on the opposite side on his wing, was also very active with his 24 meters gleaned with the leather in hand.

What a match from the UBB third line. Entering the game in the 53rd minute, the Bordeaux player showed his power to unlock his team's progress. Gazzotti finished this meeting with 56 meters conquered with the ball in hand and having succeeded in 8 of his 9 tackles. Intractable.

Flops

But where has Racing 92 gone? Stuart Lancaster's team no longer responds and seems completely amorphous. The Ile-de-France residents offered almost nothing during this match and had a terrible time being dangerous. As soon as the Racingmen succeeded, they made mistakes themselves. Despite a burst of pride in the second half, the game proposed by Ciel et Blanc was sterile and sorely lacked madness. Racing continues a 5th defeat in a row in the Top 14 and plunges to a worrying 7th place in the standings. The Ile-de-France residents are (clearly) sick.

Beyond a match that was not very exciting and dull until the hour mark, the two scorers of the evening - Tristan Tedder for Racing and Matéo Garcia for UBB - were not really inspired. The two players have 6 missed penalties between them in this match. Points dropped which would certainly have given a more attractive face to this meeting...
