Left pillar Ugo Boniface, who has been playing with Bordeaux-Bègles since 2022, has extended his contract with the Gironde club for three years, for which he is now linked until 2027, the UBB announced on Thursday.
Boniface, 25, from Lot-et-Garonne and U20 world champion in 2018, started professionally in Bayonne where he was crowned Pro D2 champion twice.
The name of this pillar, tall for a left-hander (1.89 m), who played 11 matches out of 14 this season with the UBB, is circulating to join the enlarged group of the Blues for the next VI Nations Tournament in a position where Toulouse's Cyril Baille could be spared while Toulon's Jean-Baptiste Gros recently underwent cervical surgery.
