Roland-Garros has another anniversary to celebrate in 2023

Saturday May 27, the Parisian Grand Slam celebrated the forty years of Yannick Noah's victory. Sunday May 28, Roland-Garros celebrated its golden anniversary with the French bank. To mark the occasion, the godmothers and godfathers of its commitment projects met at Porte d'Auteuil. Were notably present Justine Henin, Félix Auger-Aliassime and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

In recent years, impact actions have become a priority for the main partner of the tournament, such as support for young players or the humanitarian development program initiated by Canadian tennis player Félix Auger-Aliassime; for each point earned, the player, currently 9th in the world, pays 5 dollars, and the bank, 15. That is 20 dollars per point, in the service of education and the protection of children's rights in Togo.

The "BNP Paribas Young Talents" program, created in 2018, which also now supports 160 young players in world tennis (France, Belgium, United States, Italy, Canada, Poland) in a dual sporting and educational challenge, in the company of godfathers and godmothers such as Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, John McEnroe or even Justine Henin. The latter has been working since last year in collaboration with the "Team BNP Paribas Young Talents" program at her academy in Limelette.

This program provides, in particular, for sporting and extra-sporting support intended to optimize the chances of young players selected. “The results are extremely positive, says the former world number one, four-time Porte d'Auteuil winner. Accompanying young people within the academy, I have been doing it for fifteen years. It is a work on which we have hindsight, experience. Since Carlos Rodriguez (his former coach) returned, we have found a new dimension within the Academy. With the strengthening of our young talent program and the support of BNP Paribas, that changes a lot of things. This creates an emulation. Because the young people who are not yet in the team want to join. We work a lot on the attitude, the behavior, on the state of mind in relation to the tennis project, but by really working on the development of the person before working on the development of the player.
