PSG: four players and management summoned after homophobic and insulting chants against OM

As expected, the Disciplinary Commission of the Professional Football League (LFP) is investigating the verbal excesses observed at the Parc des Princes on Sunday. Recall of facts. Some Parisian supporters sang homophobic chants against the Marseille rival during the Classic against OM (4-0) in Paris. And this for very long minutes... The next day, many associations, many politicians were moved. Much more than for songs of the same nature heard on Tuesday during Lille-Reims (1-2)... The remarks in question are however not defensible and the Commission, which reveals its decisions this Wednesday as every week, logically responded to requests.

Note that in addition to the homophobic chants of the supporters, the authorities want explanations on other chants, insulting ones, taken up by several Parisian players. Carried away by the atmosphere after this resounding victory, the Rouge et Bleu communed for many minutes at the foot of the Auteuil stand. “Seized by the reports of the match delegate and taking into account the nature of the comments of certain Paris Saint-Germain supporters and certain of its players, the Disciplinary Committee decides to summon Paris Saint-Germain, as well as the Ousmane players Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi, Randal Kolo Muani and Layvin Kurzawa for the next session of the Disciplinary Commission, which will be held on Thursday October 5,” we can read in a press release from the LFP.

Remember that we see the four players singing “Marseillais, ni... ta Mère” in images from Free Ligue 1 (see below). Dembélé, Hakimi, Kolo Muani and Kurzawa will have difficulty denying the facts... They could receive a suspension, as was the case of Marseillais Taye Taiwo in his time. The former Nigerian defender of OM had insulted the Parisians after Marseille's victory over Montpellier in the final of the 2011 League Cup. "The Marseillais are going to Paris to enc... PSG," the person sang, again as part of scenes of jubilation with Olympian supporters.

To see if PSG is also sanctioned, perhaps with a partial or total closed session in the coming weeks. The capital club has in any case not failed to point out that it “condemns all forms of discrimination, particularly homophobia, and would like to point out that they have no place either in stadiums or in the society. (...) The Club intends to further strengthen its prevention work in the fight against homophobia and will meet all of its partners on this essential subject in the coming days. It is undoubtedly a speech of this nature which will be held before the members of the Disciplinary Commission in a little over a week.
