The British newspaper explains that Roy Keane was waiting for an elevator, at the top of the West stand, to go down to the lawn for the debrief of the match for Sky Sports, when the situation degenerated.

Sky Sports confirmed the incident. “Police are investigating an alleged attack by a member of the public preceding the images which circulated on social networks,” informs the television channel. A witness, interviewed by the Daily Express, claims to have seen the fan try to headbutt Roy Keane. “I then saw a mark between his eyebrows,” he says, adding that Micah Richards, ex-England international, intervened to protect his colleague.

This same witness says he "noticed blood on the ground on the way out of the public". The police have confirmed the opening of an investigation, stressing that "no arrests" have taken place. Roy Keane, former glory of Manchester United, is known for his temperament and his outspokenness in England.
