Luton have also had a two-year action plan imposed on them by an independent regulatory commission to improve supporter behavior.

“Luton admitted that it failed to ensure that its spectators and/or supporters behaved in an orderly manner,” the FA statement said.

The club released a statement saying it accepted the decision.

“As an inclusive, family-friendly club, Luton Town abhors offensive chants like this and has a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination of any kind,” the statement said. Those involved have committed a criminal offense and anyone subsequently identified will receive a club ban and may be subject to a police investigation.”

Luton are 17th in the table with six points after 12 matches. The team lost the match against Brighton 4–1 on 12 August.
