Chelsea failed to open the scoring after half an hour against Wolverhampton this Sunday, despite a huge scoring opportunity that Raheem Sterling failed to convert. The Blues striker stole the ball from the feet of João Gomes, who had just received a pass from his goalkeeper José Sa. Sterling rushed to goal and faced the Wolves goalkeeper, with the support of his teammates Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer. And yet, Chelsea did not score.
Sterling chose the individual solution and his right shot was blocked by José Sa. The England international (29 years old) may have feared an offside position from his partners, although Palmer was positioned clearly behind the ball . Chelsea are currently ranked 10th in the Premier League. Their match against Wolverhampton, to follow live on our site, closes the 18th day of the English championship.
