This period of convalescence compromises the participation of Mitoma, 26, in the Asian Cup of Nations (January 12 - February 10 in Qatar) with Japan and that of Adingra, 21, in the African Cup of Nations. (January 13 - February 11) with Ivory Coast, host country.
“Tomorrow (Thursday) we have more or less ten injured players, maybe eight, but (the) other two players cannot start the match,” De Zerbi explained at a press conference. “Mitoma is one of them. We lost Kaoru for about six weeks - four, five, six weeks. Adingra, I think he needs four, five weeks (of recovery). Tomorrow (Thursday), no Mitoma, no Adingra,” continued the Italian coach of the “Seagulls” (“Seagulls”).
Mitoma and Adingra were both injured during Brighton's last championship match against Crystal Palace (1-1), Thursday December 21 in London. Brighton, who sit ninth in the table, will also be without Ansu Fati, Tariq Lamptey, Adam Webster, Solly March, Julio Enciso and Joel Veltman at Spurs' receiving end, while midfielder Adam Lallana could stay on the bench.
Brighton will have to do without this entire list of injuries to challenge Tottenham on Thursday December 28 (8:30 p.m.) at home.
