Manchester United's MUTV presenter Zarah Connolly had a very embarrassing moment at Old Trafford on Saturday. The scene took place before the Red Devils' victory against Brentford in the Premier League (2-1).
The presenter came to meet a child suffering from cancer present in the stands to give him a jersey of the Mancunian striker, Alejandro Garnacho, offered by the English club. Before showing the gift to the young boy, named Cameron, Zarah Connolly asked the person what he thought of the Argentinian winger. “I don’t really like her,” he replied very bluntly.
Enough to disconcert the presenter a little, who still offered him the jersey while keeping a smile. “You'll really laugh when you see who's on the back of the jersey now. You have Garnacho’s jersey!” A sequence which greatly amused Internet users on social networks.
Zarah Connolly subsequently reacted to this somewhat embarrassing scene. “We found out before the match that Cameron had just finished chemo two weeks ago and we wanted to give him a gift from his United family,” she explained. “After that, he literally hugged me and said thank you! He’s a soldier.” A story with a happy ending.
