Paris-Roubaix: Tom Pidcock finally at the start

“Roubaix baby!”, launched the 24-year-old Briton in a short clip posted by his team on social networks.

Seeing the Olympic and world mountain bike champion join the festivities in the Hell of the North was anything but expected after his fall on Monday during the reconnaissance of the prologue to the Tour of the Basque Country which he had to leave even before the start.

“But I had a good week actually and recovered quickly from my fall and here I am at Paris-Roubaix, my favorite race,” he said.

Pidcock, 24, has never started the Queen of the Elite Classics before but won the U21 race in 2019.

“I love the romance and passion around this race, it’s the most special of the year,” he added.

Pidcock will notably be accompanied by the two young phenomena, the British rider Josh Tarling and the American AJ August, only 18 years old.
