NFL: four players suspended for betting on matches

The NFL on Thursday suspended four players, three of them for at least one season, for betting on football league games and violating its gambling policy, the organization announced Thursday.

Two Indianapolis Colts players, Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry, and free agent Demetrius Taylor have all been suspended through at least the end of the 2023 season for betting on league games in 2022.

Nicholas Petit-Frere of the Tennessee Titans, who bet on non-NFL sports at club facilities, was suspended for the first six games of the 2023 regular season.

Rodgers, Berry and Taylor can seek reinstatement at the end of next season. But the Colts have already waived the rights of the first two after their suspension was announced.

In April, the league suspended Detroit Lions receivers Jameson Williams, Quintez Cephus, Stanley Berryhill and defenseman C.J. Moore, as well as Washington Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney for violating gambling policy.
