MMA: “I’m going to knock him down”, Cédric Doumbé announces his next fight against Baki

In a video loaded with punchlines for the newspaper L’Équipe, Cédric Doumbé launched hostilities with Baysangur Chamsoudinov, known as “Baki”, a French MMA fighter just like him. After exchanging barbs on social networks, Doumbé announced an upcoming fight between them on X (ex-Twitter) Sunday evening. “I would have warned you,” he wrote in a first message, before mentioning the PFL (Professional Fighters League), the American MMA league. “Let’s go,” he told them.

On Monday, L’Équipe published a two-minute video, produced on the sidelines of an interview with Doumbé, in which the 31-year-old Franco-Cameroonian fighter provokes his future opponent. “Eagles don’t fly with pigeons,” warns Doumbé, referring to a song by rapper Booba. Doumbé lightly speaks of being “fed up” with those who doubt that he can beat Baki, 22, a rising star of French MMA.

“I warned you with Jordan” Zebo, recalls Doumbé. On September 30, at PFL Paris, Doumbé knocked out Zebo in just 9 seconds. “And again, 9 seconds until the referee comes and pushes me, otherwise it’s 7 seconds. Very nasty,” supports Doumbé who also cites… Kylian Mbappé. “Aren’t you happy? Double,” he anticipates, in reference to the sentence uttered by the footballer in a documentary a few years ago: “Aren’t you happy? Triple."

“You want me to destroy the future of French MMA? I’m going to shoot him down,” predicts Cédric Doumbé. “For me, it’s all good. Easy fight, sick crazy hype, and sorrel. What more could you ask for?”, concludes the former kick-boxer with a perfect record in MMA (5 fights, 5 victories). Fighting in the welterweight category (-77 kg), the Frenchman did not specify the date of his upcoming fight against Baki, also undefeated until now (7 fights, 7 victories).
